What We Believe

Our Calling

Our church has been serving the Twin Cities for over 90 years. We cross cultural, racial, economic, and denominational barriers as a mosaic of people who experience unity in the midst of diversity. Our calling is to Radiate Life and Joy as a House of Prayer for All Nations. This calling comes from Isaiah 56:6-7.

Our Values

Our Foundations Principles and Values are the foundation upon which this house is built:

1. We will stand for truth.
2. We will establish our unity in our Christ-centered vision.
3. We will depend on God in prayer.
4. We will value healthy congregational life.
5. We will make disciples.
6. We will value every member as a minister.
7. We will equip and empower.
8. We will be a force, not a fortress.

Our Beliefs

About the Bible: We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God.

About God: We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that God is: good, loving, gracious, merciful, true, holy, righteous, wise, just, self-existent, self-sufficient, infinite, eternal, changeless, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, and sovereign.

About Jesus: We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His miracles; His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood; His bodily resurrection; His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and His personal return in power and in glory.

About SinWe believe men and women were created in the image of God. Therefore every person has innate value in the sight of God. We believe that all have sinned, bringing physical death and spiritual death, which is separation from God. We believe that God has established clear parameters through His word for all humanity, and that violation of those parameters, which is sin, separates people from God and from one another.

About Salvation: We believe that justification by faith in the atonement of Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful men and women.

About the Holy Spirit: We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, which includes His indwelling at salvation through which God empowers all believers to be transformed in their hearts, minds, and behaviors to walk according to His truth; the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as a distinct experience and His supernatural gifting and empowering of the Church for its work, life and worship.

About the Church: We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe the primary agency for the work of God's kingdom is the Christian local church, functioning under the sovereignty of our Lord Jesus Christ. The church has been entrusted with the ordinances of Believers' Baptism and the Lord's Supper.

About the Return of Jesus: We believe in the return of Jesus Christ to consummate His kingdom, in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
